End of Life Rainbow Bridge Sessions

The Rainbow Bridge is where our pets run free again, tails wagging, eyes bright — and where they wait with love, until our footsteps echo theirs once more.

Frequently asked questions about End of Life Pet Photography

What is an End of Life or Rainbow Bridge Session?

End of Life Rainbow Bridge sessions are meant to honor your pet’s life and the bond you share. Whether your pet has just been diagnosed or is in their final days, these portraits provide a chance to capture love, connection, and meaningful moments together.

You're welcome to include immediate family members and other pets who are part of your pet’s story in the photos.

My pet is not feeling well. Is a session like this still possible?

Absolutely. I tailor each session to your pet’s comfort and energy level. We’ll move slowly, take breaks as needed, and create a calm, loving space. Your pet’s well being always comes first.

I've done many of these sessions and find that even the most tired and ill of pets perk up for it!  Pet owners routinely tell me how incredible it was to see their pet wagging their tail again.

Where do these sessions take place?

Sessions can be done wherever your pet feels most safe — often at home, in the backyard, or at a favorite park. I’m flexible and will come to you to make things as easy as possible.

Your home does not need to be perfect, and I've captured some incredible photos at the smallest and busiest of local parks. This is about your pet, not the scenery (unless you want it to be).

What if I'm too emotional to be in the photos?

That’s completely okay. You’re welcome to be in as much or as little of the session as you’d like. Many people find comfort in simply being present, holding a paw or sharing quiet time together.

I’ll gently guide you in ways that feel natural and authentic. Most pet parents tell me at the end how they couldn't believe how happy and celebratory the session felt!

How quickly will I receive the photos?

I know how meaningful these images are. For that reason, I make effort to deliver your finished, edited gallery of images within 7-10 days or less.

Your gallery includes full access to all finished digital images, which you can download and save forever.

Why is there a fee? Some photographers do this for free.

That’s a beautiful gift, and I have deep respect for those who can offer it. I charge a reduced fee for end-of-life sessions because the service I provide is professional, personal, and time-intensive.

These sessions require emotional presence, flexibility, and experience. The fee helps sustain this work so I can continue to offer it with the care it deserves.

When is it time to book a session like this?

From my experience, it's never too soon

Booking a photography session , and even more so, scheduling your veterinarian to help your pet cross the Rainbow Bridge, can feel like crossing an invisible line, admitting that goodbye is near. I understand how heavy that step is.

But please hear this: it's not too soon. I speak from experience. End-of-life portraits and that final vet appointment are full of emotion, but your pet doesn't mark time the way we do. They don't know the difference between today and three weeks from now.

What they do know is this:

Today, they love you.

Today, they still feel okay.

Today, they want to be near you and enjoy being a pet: sniffing the breeze, curling up on their favorite spot, getting that extra treat.

If you're here, reading this, wondering if it's time, it probably is. And that's okay. You're giving them the gift of love, presence, and peace. I’ll be here to help honor that.
